The Donor Conceived Person Centered Professional Development Group, established by Ely Reisen, USDCC Director of Mental Health Professional Community Building & Connections, provides a platform for mental health professionals to engage in peer consultation, with the aim of enhancing their professional practice to prioritize the needs of donor conceived people.  The group’s objectives include

  • Offering support to professionals who work with families formed through donor conception post-fertility treatment
  • Exploring best practices for addressing the long-term implications of donor conception across all stages of human development
  • Creating a safe space to address countertransference challenges that may arise for professionals whose personal experiences intersect with their work with families created through donor conception
